The small chapel of St Barbara is located on the north side of the katholikon. When the nuns of the new sisterhood arrived at the monastery in 1988 they found a square building, approximately 3 by 3 meters, with a small niche in its eastern wall. According to oral tradition, there had been a prosevchadi (or rudimentary chapel) here in honour of the saint.
The chapel was established in 1993 and completely refurbished in 2017. Vlasis Tsotsonis began the iconography with scenes from the life of St Barbara in the same year.
The memory of the great martyr Barbara is honoured and celebrated with reverence and splendour on 4 December.
